Method TryFormat

TryFormat(Span<char>, out int, ReadOnlySpan<char>, IFormatProvider?)

Tries to format this value into the provided span of characters.

Declaration

public bool TryFormat(Span<char> destination, out int charsWritten, ReadOnlySpan<char> format = default, IFormatProvider? provider = null)

Parameters

Type	Name	Description
Span<char>	destination	The span in which to write this value formatted as a span of characters.
int	charsWritten	When this method returns, contains the number of characters that were written in destination.
ReadOnlySpan<char>	format	The string format to use. The "G" format is used if none is provided.
IFormatProvider	provider	The format provider that will be used to obtain number format information. The current culture is used if none is provided.

Returns

Type	Description
bool	true if the formatting was successful; otherwise, false if destination was too small.
